Darwinism: Why I can't believe in Evolution

Today Darwinism is another name for evolution and can be defined as “requiring life to evolve from a lower to a higher form.” In other words, life must have evolved from one cell to the many celled life forms on the earth today.

This quasi-scientific theory is not a truly scientific idea and conflicts with the Biblical account of creation from Genesis, and known laws of science. This article will deal first with Genesis 1 and then with some scientific facts that show that Darwinism or evolution cannot be true.

The Bible affirms that God created the world and everything in it. Belief in the Bible requires one to accept the source of life and everything else to be from the Hand of God.

Now let us examine the world as created by God. One thing is evident. The winds and rains upon the land are slowly wearing down the mountains into tiny bits that are being spread all over everywhere by the wind and the oceans. As proof of that consider the fact that the oceans are slowly becoming saltier, and the deltas at the mouth of rivers are slowly increasing.

Think of the vast amount of energy that would be required to gather together all the bits and pieces and mold them into a mountain! It is easy to see that formation of the mountains involved a large input of energy that is slowly being dissipated. Further, the present location of all these bits and pieces (far from their sources on the mountains) is certainly much more random. They are scattered all over the ocean.

This is how God created the system we call the earth. In short, God created everything, even the passing of time which accomplishes the above.

Now consider some iron clad “laws of science” that have been verified millions and millions of times in every real scientific experiment. In fact these three laws of thermodynamics continue to be obeyed in every experiment done even now. (Occasionally, someone claims to circumvent one of these laws in their experiments. However, without fail all these claims have been found to be false. Remember the claim of “room temperature controlled fusion” back in 1989?)

Here is a discussion of these three laws of thermodynamics and an application to evolution:

The first law of thermodynamics expressed in every day terms is “you can’t win.” This means that whatever we do, whether chemistry experiments or physics experiments or in every day life, we cannot create energy. If one begins with a certain amount of energy and then does something with it, like drive a car or heat a house one will never be able to use up more energy than is present in the system. About a hundred years ago countless “scientists” tested this law by trying to create an apparatus that would run forever. The search for a perpetual motion goes on because no one has ever made any system that created its own energy.

The second law of thermodynamics expressed in everyday terms is “you can’t break even.” A good illustration of this is a wind-up watch. A wind-up watch cannot even use all of the energy put into it. Why not? Because every system or machine that is altered with time loses some energy to friction and friction-like processes. In short, energy is being consumed to do various work and work-like functions.

The third law of thermodynamics expressed in everyday terms is “you can’t get out of the game.” Better stated this means that anything left alone deteriorates in its energy content. Think about a rusty pipe. We say, “Oh, that pipe has corroded over the passage of time.” We see parts of nature wearing it away due to wind and rain. In short, without the intervention of humans to increase the energy, things lose energy. They flow from a higher energy state to a lower energy state on their own.

These three laws show how the universe functions after being created by God. In short, this is how God made the world to function.

Now consider evolution. It requires a lower energy form to evolve on its own to a higher energy form. For example, a one cell animal becomes a higher energy, more complex, two-celled animal. A lower energy animal becomes a higher energy animal, all without any intervention by intelligence. Such is a violation of these three immutable laws of thermodynamics, proven in every experiment ever run.

Thus, Darwin evolution is not possible scientifically. I cannot believe it. The Bible claims that this gigantic increase in energy called creation came about by the Hand of God. This is the only rational explanation for the world we live in. I believe the Bible and urge all to do the same.
