John 3:16 says faith only saves.
Answer:
No, it does not. Find the word "only" or "alone" in John 3:16. It is not there. John 3:16 affirms that faith plays a dramatic role in being saved. However, should we use this verse to exclude the teachings of other scriptures? The Bible says many things save: God, mercy, grace, faith, confession, repentance, baptism. To argue faith ALONE from John 3:16 or Acts 16:31 is no more sound than for me to argue baptism ALONE from 1 Peter 3:21. How about this being a both/and not an either/or?
