Question:

The Philippian jailer was told to believe on the name of Jesus. He was not told to believe AND be baptized.

Answer:

Interestingly, he was baptized, and that very night ( Acts 16:33). I wonder if Paul's answer "Believe on Jesus and you will be saved" represents the start of the sermon, not all of it. Do you think he told the jailer to confess? Obviously he told him something about baptism because he was baptized.
